Mountain Buggy Duo Stroller, Black Dot Reviews
10 of 10 people found the following review helpful Excellent Stroller!, October 21, 2010 By Bob's Opinion (SoCal) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Mountain Buggy Duo Stroller, Black Dot (Baby Product) After much research and comparison shopping, we decided on the Mountain Buggy Duo. We own the Mountain Buggy Urban Jungle and love it, but we were not going to blindly buy another MB; even with how much we love the Urban Jungle. When the Duo arrived and we put it together we found it to have the same quality and features that we love so much about the UJ. It's incredibly easy to set up and collapse down. The wheels are a great size for easy maneuvering and a smooth ride. Add the suspension system and both kids (newborn and toddler) are very comfortable. I tell people it's the Cadillac of strollers. We are very thankful that both strollers have been bought for us by a number of people pooling their funds together to give us a gift certificate to purchase what we wanted, otherwise we would never be able to afford such an expensive ride for our kids. But because we spend so much time at Disneyland in SoCal, it's important for us to get something that works for them and us... Read more
1 of 1 people found the following review helpful Out With the New and Back into the Old!, March 4, 2012 This review is from: Mountain Buggy Duo Stroller, Black Dot (Baby Product) Mountain Buggy was bought out by Phil & Teds in 2009 and production of the strollers was moved from New Zealand to China. The quality that was once expected and faithfully delivered from Mountain Buggy has pretty much disappeared. The previous version of this stroller, before the company was acquired by P&T, was called the Urban Double. Even though they look very similar, they are not. The older stroller was a true workhorse. It could handle just about anything and was durable and reliable. The Duo stroller just feels cheap in comparison. The tires, fabric, hinges, and frame do not look and feel like the original high quality Mountain Buggy we once loved. My advice is stay away! Phil & Teds strollers have mediocre reviews at best because true quality and well thought out design are lacking. That same unfortunate fate seems to be around the corner, if not already here for Mountain Buggy. Phil & Teds is riding on the coattails of what was once a GREAT stroller manufacturer and changing... 5 of 7 people found the following review helpful mountain buggy duo - not so great stroller, September 4, 2011 By Wildtaurus (Connecticut) - See all my reviews This review is from: Mountain Buggy Duo Stroller, Black Dot (Baby Product) One of the reasons why I purchase this stroller was the option to have a duo cot, which I loved. My twins enjoyed it also, cuddling each other. It is easy to push, it can turn around pretty much on a spot, it does fit through standard door. My boys grew out of the cot pretty fast and when they were 4 months old I had to start using the seats. I wish I had a chance to see the stroller before buying it. I trusted online reviews and my judgement was clouded - I was pregnant and really wanted the duo cot.
CONS
- When the seat are reclined (it really goes completely flat) it's fine BUT when you move the seat to sitting position the canvas doesn't fold and is all mashed up inside the seat. It takes a lot of space from the seat!
- The harness fastening is in the middle of the seat and is quite hard. My boys have usually their faces marked from it.
- It is impossible to move the harness away from the seat so when I put the boys in, they always sit on it.
- It... Read more
